Emmanuelle Alt is one of my favorite people in fashion. She knows what looks good on her and she sticks to it, which is really what style is all about. She is also unabashedly French, on top of being the Editor in Chief for Vogue Paris which is and always will be one of my favorite fashion glossies.
You will rarely see Emmanuelle out and about in anything other than black. She might throw in a few cool details here and there, but she loves neutrals and quite frankly, they love her back. She was seen during Fashion Week wearing a black suede mini dress with fringe detailing from Isabel Marant’s Fall 2011 collection. Nothing is more of a global “It” brand than Isabel Marant, with fans including Beyoncé and Kate Bosworth. The collection was definitely on the hippie chic side of fashion for the season and the dress will be one of autumn’s most coveted pieces, along with the suede fringe boots it was paired with. Though suede is rather tricky to wear in terms of skirts and dresses for women with curves, I do intend to embrace it for Fall and at least try it when I can.
Here is how you can do the bohemian detail for the season:
Long necklaces are must-have pieces to buy, especially for Fall because they jazz up all the sweaters that you will be wearing day in and day out. Try Chan Luu’s Geometric Chain Fringe Necklace ($93) without breaking the bank. You can consistently count on Elizabeth and James to make amazing jackets each season. The Suede Jacket with Fringe ($695) is a great piece to add to your closet for autumn, in a shade that is a Fall staple. I have never been a fan of going all-neutral for the colder months. Wear ROARKE new york’s Charo Beaded Necklace with Fringe ($175) and add a pop of color to all of your looks for the season. Vests are a staple for autumn and winter, so go for Rosel’s Fringe Vest ($395) which will help you stand out in a crowd.
