As a movie buff, I have my reservations about the remake of Footloose. Why mess with a classic? Clearly that seems to be something our generation is into doing these days, but I am sure that I will eventually see the film even if it isn’t in theatres.
One thing I am not reserved about is how much I like Julianne Hough and her style. She’s really the epitome of the bubbly blonde, but can definitely go for blonde bombshell with just a switch of ensemble. At the Footloose premiere in Los Angeles, she definitely looked glamorous in a look right off of Tibi’s Fall 2011 runway: a long-sleeved red organza top and matching high-waisted shorts in the same shade. She accessorized with nude pumps and simple accessories. As you know, I love Tibi and love red on the red carpet so this really is a winning look in the style department for me. I never thought of wearing an all-red look with nude pumps to balance out the color palette and it really is a great idea that I will be trying going forward.
Don’t think that the onset of cool temperatures means that you cannot still rock shorts. Try out these great styles and pair them with over the knee socks, knee-high boots and tights for the perfect Fall look.
Wool shorts are must-haves for Fall so try Rivamonti’s Wool Flannel Pleated Shorts ($395) in a warm tobacco hue. Want to try city chic this season? Look no further than Gucci’s Wool Blend Herringbone Shorts ($695). Last winter, I wore my Gap boyfriend shorts so much that I wore a hole into them! This season, I am going to pick up Current/Elliott’s Boyfriend Roll Up Denim Shorts ($178) as a great replacement.
Leather shorts are all the rage for Fall so capture the trend with Bird by Juicy Couture’s Pleated Leather Shorts ($450). I cannot get enough of Marc by Marc Jacobs. A style I have my eye on for the season is the Kristi Silk Print Shorts ($228): super cute and feminine. Can a woman ever go wrong in Chloé? Get a piece you will wear day in and day out with the Wool Felt Shorts ($675).
