Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino Pre-Fall 2011 And A Look at the Collection

Sarah Jessica Parker has been one of my style icons and favorite actresses long before Sex and the City. She has always had amazing hair, radiant eyes, a fabulous smile, a great figure and impeccable fashion sense.

She attended the 2011 New York City Ballet Spring Gala in a charming dress from Valentino’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection: a sheer black and white embellished lace dress. She accessorized with glittering jewels and a Sueded Python Origami Bag from VBH. I loved this look on her and she never fails to wear something unexpected yet beautiful on the red carpet.

Valentino is the brand of romance and Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri have done an amazing job of continuing that legacy. For Pre-Fall 2011, they stayed true to the age old fashion house with lace, cocktail dresses and ruffles galore. Functionality was a main characteristic of the pieces and no design was one that couldn’t been seen on the red carpet, out and about or at a high-fashion event.

Feminine silhouettes reigned supreme and I loved that they mixed textures whether it be ruffled silk against leather or fur against it, showing luxury at its finest. Not one design was outdated or matronly and every woman could find her style in the collection, whether she be conservative or bohemian. Some of my favorite pieces were the sheer lace trousers that were remarkably beautiful and chic. I can definitely see style stars like Olivia Palermo and Halle Berry wearing the collection and I hope that it is embraced in the coming months on the red carpet.
