Yesterday, I stated that I was looking forward to seeing who would wear Helmut Lang next after Nicole Richie wore the brand’s Slack Jersey Dress in New York City. Well that didn’t take very long.
Beyoncé was seen out and about in the Big Apple, rocking the brand’s Bare Boucle Sweater. She paired it with a barely there black mini, black pumps, Round Zyl Frames ($250) from Norma Karmali and her favorite orange Birkin. A little exposed for the chilly New York City weather today, but definitely a great look that could easily be dressed down for colder temperatures with black tights, black over the knee boots and a black leather jacket.
Last year around this time, I was opposed to all things sheer, but as I sit here with a sheer swiss dot button down layered under a black blazer, my feelings and style have definitely changed. The Bare Boucle Sweater is great because it lends itself to layering. You can go for a sexier look like Beyoncé did and pair it with a mini or for a dressed down ensemble and layer it over leggings. It definitely has the Helmut Lang edge, but could fit in the wardrobe of most women, no matter what their styles.
