If Peter Copping doesn’t encourage you to make your style utterly feminine and ladylike, then I am afraid no designer will. I just featured Nina Ricci’s Liane Fold Over Satchel as one of my favorite pink picks for Fall and it will definitely go perfectly with the brand’s Spring 2012 collection.
Monsieur Copping named the collection “Zina”, after Zina de Plagny who collaborated with Nina Ricci in the 1930’s on amazing prints. She has a whole website dedicated to her and her work here. Her influence was definitely felt in the collection on beautiful printed designs including a flirty multicolor romper on Jourdan Dunn, a ladylike floral jacket on Anais Pouliot, Hanne Gaby Odiele and Bette Franke’s long-sleeved sheaths, dainty floral clutches and on the sky-high floral wedges.
Sensuality and bare skin was at an all-time high in the collection, though done tastefully in a way that I wouldn’t mind trying for Spring: a strapless bra peeked out from underneath Aymeline Valade’s cropped navy jacket, Anais Mali’s white jacket hid a sheer top and a white textured bandeau was paired with a high-waisted floral pencil skirt on Emily Baker.
Jennifer Aniston and Clemence Poesy are fans. I would love to see Jen switch it up and try the navy embellished dress with a plunging neckline on Arizona Muse and Clemence could certainly pull off any of the feminine floral looks.
