Michelle Obama in Michael Kors Fall 2010 at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner in Washington DC

Last week, I featured Beyoncé rocking sequins and some pieces that you could try to capture the trend for Fall. Beyoncé isn’t the only one embracing paillettes for the season, as First Lady Michelle Obama wore a skirt adorned in them just a few days ago.

She was seen at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner in Washington DC, alongside her husband. Michelle went for all black with a simple form-fitting tee, a wide satin belt cinching her waist and Michael Kors’ double face paillette fishtail skirt from the Fall 2010 collection. She accessorized with shimmering silver and black jewelry to add to the luxury of the look. So chic and elegant. I love that she isn’t afraid to wear designs from past seasons. It truly shows us all how to make pieces in our wardrobe work for us now and later.
