Hailee Steinfeld is one of fashion’s newest “It” girls and though she is just fourteen, she really has become quite the style star. Of late, she has been going for more sophisticated looks which seems strange for someone so young, but I have thoroughly enjoyed them.
She was seen at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in a black tuxedo with sequin lapels from Louis Vuitton and she accessorized with an emerald green and black striped Jean clutch from Edie Parker. The clutch gave her look a pop of color along with her strong red lip. Though very streamlined and elegant for someone so young, I loved this look. There are quite a few celebrities who should be taking pointers from Hailee with their upcoming red carpet appearances.
Edie Parker is a handbag line that you should familiarize yourself with. The pieces take inspiration from vintage acrylic clutches and handbags and they are quite delightful. Brett Hyman is the brain behind the brand and she started the line just last year after having served as Gucci’s Director of Public Relations, as well as having worked at Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Elle.
Brett has a deep love for the 1950’s and 1960’s and she borrows heavily from those decades while designing her pieces, being influenced especially by the handbags that showgirls and socialites carried at the time. Edie Parker handbags are incredibly elegant and whimsical, yet functional, which is of the utmost importance to women who need to fit more than just a lipstick in their clutches. They truly aren’t like anything else on the market today and to own one will give you a piece of retro style while simultaneously putting you ahead of the trends.
