2011 Met Gala – Hilary Rhoda and Gisele Bundchen in Alexander McQueen

When the models grace the red carpet at the Met Gala, we all get a sense of the designers’ vision because the models are often their muses. Hilary Rhoda and Gisele Bundchen are two of the world’s biggest supermodels, garnering numerous ad campaigns and magazine covers, as well as walking in a slew of runway shows and starring in editorial spreads for the world’s best publications.

For this year’s Met Gala honoring Alexander McQueen, both Hilary and Gisele have chosen looks from the honored designer. Hilary is in an all-white ensemble of a white jacket with a long cascading back, a white blouse with a tied ruffle collar and a white mini skirt. For accessories, she is wearing white peep-toe buckle booties from McQueen and a black and gold ring from Fenton (shown below), putting the score at two for the jewelry designer also having placed jewelry on Amanda Brooks for her first look of the night.

Gisele has chosen a red strapless gown with a long pleated train from the Fall 2005 Collection. This is a special honor for her because McQueen was one of the designers who helped catapult her career: “When I was 17 McQueen gave me my first big break by booking me for his fashion show. Doing his show opened many doors for my career.” (Modelinia)

Who else will be wearing McQueen to the 2011 Met Gala? Daphne Guinness and Anna dello Russo for sure and Coco Rocha is rumored to be wearing the brand as well. Stay tuned!
