Jennifer Garner in Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2011 and A Look at the Fall 2011 Collection

Jennifer Garner hasn’t been on the red carpet as often lately and I am very glad to see her make a return. She always goes for the utmost in elegance and sophistication and it is nice to see a celebrity who demonstrates consistency when it comes to style. Naturally, one always gets it right with Rachel Zoe behind the scenes.

She was seen at the premiere for her new film “Arthur” in New York City. She chose look 30 from Oscar de la Renta’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection: a long-sleeve charcoal cashmere silk knit top and a tulle skirt with allover pewter sequin embroidery. Her accessories included black platform pumps from Casadei, a black clutch and jewelry from Cartier.

A glamorous yet subtle look that I really loved on her. Jennifer Garner chose not to add a splash of color as Mr. de la Renta intended, but it was a chilly day in New York City and her ensemble reflected that.

No one does luxury and opulence better than Oscar de la Renta and his Fall 2011 collection was a study in the two. He’s never been a fan of “pared down” fashion: statements can’t help but be made in his clothing. The Oscar de la Renta woman not only has the means to purchase his designs, but also the confidence to pull them off. There were fur and embellishments galore and exotic prints were plentiful. Fall showed why he has such global appeal with the ladies who lunch from New York City to Dubai.

The suit was present and my favorite version was in gold, totally capturing the menswear-inspired spirit that was so popular for the season. I could totally imagine Halle Berry or Sarah Jessica Parker in the look. There were enough coats to go around, accented with fur and cinched at the waist as shown on Tati Cotliar and Arizona Muse. Evening made appearances of course with sequins, silk and chiffon. Totally chic and totally Oscar. I cannot wait to see who wears this collection and how they do it.
