She took Paris by storm at Fall 2011 Paris Fashion Week, with looks that had us questioning her citizenship, as we all know that the style of French women is envied worldwide. Richie was seen leaving the Ritz Hotel en route to the L’atelier de Joel Rubuchon Restaurant. She looked super cool and relaxed in a Red Leather Biker Jacket by Simone and Jet by John Eshaya’s Hippie Fade Skinny Jeans in Light Blue ($194). Her accessories included Celine’s Boston Bag, black pumps by Balenciaga and Chelsea Cat Eye Sunglasses ($138) from her own brand, House of Harlow 1960.
Naturally, any red jacket always reminds me of Thriller, but this style isn’t adorned with tons of zippers and is cut in a really flattering silhouette. I’ve been craving a pair of destructed jeans for way too long now (after my last pair ripped in inappropriate ways) and I love the color of the pair by Jet by John Eshaya that Nicole Richie is rocking, which have also been worn by Kim Kardashian and Heidi Klum. Let’s not forget the Celine Boston Bag which is one of the industry’s most coveted styles and has been for the past few seasons.
Red is such a statement-making color. I rarely see women wearing it as I think that it can be portrayed as “too fiery”, but I do love it and think it’s time for more of us all to embrace it. Here are my favorite red picks for the season.
Rag & Bone’s Carmel Dress (on sale for $259) is so easy and can be worn year-round with a turtleneck underneath for winter or bare-legged with open-toe sandals for summer. A definite must-splurge, Fendi’s Peek-a-Boo Tote in Red ($4510) is a collector’s item and a fashionista’s dream. Frye boots are super comfortable and give an edge to any ensemble. Pick the the Engineer 8R Boots ($208) for Spring to wear with flirty day dresses and oversized chambray shirts.
Simone’s Red Leather Biker Jacket retails for $1195. Visit www.singer22.com to purchase.
