Natalie Massenet is a retail goddess. If you aren’t familiar with her name, she is the Founder and Chairman of everyone’s favorite luxury site, Net-A-Porter. The site was launched in June of 2000 and has been a frontrunner in the industry ever since. Two million women look at the site each week and its new site for men, Mr. Porter is well on its way to doing the same for gents.
Christie’s in New York City held a “Green Auction: A Bid To Save The Earth” which was backed by Net-A-Porter. Mrs. Massenet chose a dégradé lace-covered cotton and silk blend gown from Alessandra Rich. Rich is a newcomer to fashion, having worked as a high-end interior designer in France, London and her native Italy. She launched the label in 2009 and the buzz around it has been surging since then. Her pieces are on the longer side, with hemlines that graze the floor and in interesting mixed textures as well as splashes of neon colors. Her designs are both fashion-forward and extremely elegant.
Her Spring 2011 collection is characterized by a kind of fiery sophistication with pieces that are statement makers all their own. Each look is supremely feminine and shows that the Rich woman is one who is completely self-assured, especially in terms of style. This collection is definitely suited for evening and truly presents luxury at its finest.
Alessandra Rich’s Dégradé Lace-covered Cotton and Silk Blend Gown retails for $3500. Visit www.net-a-porter.com to purchase and www.alessandrarich.com for more information. See more looks from her Spring 2011 collection below.
