Get to Know Indian “It” Girl Deepika Padukone and See Burberry Prorsum’s Fall 2011 Collection

Deepika Padukone isn’t a household name in the US yet, but in India she is a superstar. She is an actress and former model starring in Bollywood blockbusters including Om Shanti Om and Aishwarya.

As you can see, Padukone is drop dead gorgeous and also a fashionista. For Vogue India‘s March 2011 issue, she is the cover girl and teams up with Burberry designer, Christopher Bailey. The results are sizzling. She wears looks from the edgy Spring 2011 collection and by the looks of it, we have a new international star on our hands.

“[Deepika] is stunning. What a pleasure to have a glimpse of the famous Bollywood magic that the world obsesses about.” – Christopher Bailey

Bailey just debuted the brand’s Fall 2011 collection at London Fashion Week. He was inspired by Jean Shrimpton and thus named the collection after the supermodel whose influence could be seen in the sixties-style silhouettes that screamed Mod. All of the classic outerwear styles were there in eye-popping colors and rich plaids. This was a softer Burberry than last year: no rocker chic here, but instead a sexy yet girly woman appeared. Not much other than outerwear was shown, but I think any woman has enough to covet from what was modeled on the runway.

Cannot wait to see Deepika Padukone in this collection. She is definitely on my radar as one to watch.
