5 Movies I Can’t Wait to See in 2018

2017 is pretty much over, thus I’m looking forward to what 2018 has to offer! As a lover of film, few things get me as excited as new movies, thus what’s coming up in cinema already has me very excited.

Admittedly, 2017 was a very rough year for Hollywood. Sexual misconduct rocked Tinseltown and I suspect more stories from brave people will emerge and continue rocking the industry to its core. We still have a lot of strides to make and more than a few boundaries to break, but there’s a whole lot of inclusivity and girl power in next year’s films.

2018 is already presenting quite a few blockbusters, with some incredibly badass women takin centerstage. Here, five movies I simply cannot wait to see once the new year rolls around.

PROUD MARY – JANUARY 12TH

Taraji P. Henson takes on the role of hitwoman Mary and she’s more badass than ever. Also looking forward to the equally slay-worthy fashion and beauty looks to accompany all of the actress’s superhero-worthy fight scenes.

BLACK PANTHER – FEBRUARY 2018

There are too many amazing black actors and actresses in this film to count, from Michael B. Jordan to Angela Bassett. Jordan’s two-strand twists as Wakanda’s hottest villain already have me in tears of joy!

LIZZIE – 2018 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL PREMIERE IN JANUARY

Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny are lovers in this romance slash horror flick. Stewart plays the infamous Lizzie Borden and Sevigny her maid, who soon becomes her amour.

ANNIHILATION – FEBRUARY 23RD

I’ll see pretty much anything Natalie Portman is in, so this film is a definite go for me. Oscar Isaac, Tessa Thompson, and Gina Rodriguez also star in this sci-fi movie.

A WRINKLE IN TIME – MARCH 9TH

Ava Duvernay is another woman whose work I will always show up to see, thus her adaptation of this classic novel is last, but not least when it comes to the movies I’m most thrilled about right now. Oprah, Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon, and Chris Pine are all among the movie’s all-star cast.

What movies are you looking forward to in 2018?
