Alber Elbaz received the prestigious 50th Anniversary Geoffrey Beene Fashion Impact Award at the 2013 YMA FSF Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner in New York City. Hosted by CNN’s beautiful and impossibly stylish correspondent Alina Cho in a Lanvin One-Shoulder Duchesse Techno Dress, the who’s who of the fashion industry were in attendance. Also honored were former PVH president Allen Sirkin who was the recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award and Michael Balmuth, CEO of Ross Stores, who received the Retailer of the Year Award.
The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund is a leader in the industry and is in its 76th year. At the 2013 dinner, 125 college students were granted $5,000 scholarships. The organization also presented four $30,000 Geoffrey Beene National Scholarships and another four Geoffrey Beene $10,000 runner-up scholarships to students pursuing a career in the fashion arts.
