Athletes often get a bad rap in the style department, since they spend their lives in sweats and athletic gear. There are a few choice women who have become known for their style on and off the court: Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are the women who stand out in my mind. Another who is a superstar across the pond is track and field star Jessica Ennis.
The daughter of a Jamaican father and English mother, Jessica has risen through the ranks to become one of Britain’s top athletes. She currently holds the title as the European heptathlon champion, as well as the current world indoor pentathlon champion.
Jessica is the face of the February 2012 issue of Marie Claire UK. Photographed by Yu Tsai, she flaunts her amazing body in one-piece suits and athletic gear. Definitely inspiration for all of us who are looking to get in better shape for the new year. I think she is just beautiful and I love that an athlete is gracing the cover of a fashion and beauty magazine.
