Though Lady Gaga still goes for outrageous hair and makeup, her fashion choices have been toned down significantly in the past few months. She has opted for a more ladylike sensibility and I am really loving her choices of late.
At the Grammy Nominations Concert in Los Angeles, Gaga went for dramatic makeup, but kept it relatively tame in an all-black ensemble including a silk blouse, a long skirt with a thigh-high slit and custom-made black patent leather pumps from Brian Atwood. A quite covered and feminine look for a woman whose style mantra is truly “more is best”. I really enjoy seeing her in ensembles like this one and I hope she continues dressing this way through the new year.
I am a huge fan of Brian Atwood’s footwear, like so many other fashion-minded women. Here are three must-see styles from his collection that I am coveting.
Another favorite of Lady Gaga’s: the Alesha Patent Leather Peep Toe Platform Pumps ($775) are not for the faint of heart, boasting a 6 1/2″ heel. The Metal Heel Platform Booties (on sale for $669.90) are exactly what you need for the season: a statement-making shoe. They will be tricky because of their super skinny stiletto heels, but beauty is pain right? I have always wanted a hot pink pair of pumps. The Fredrique Snake Print Leather Platform Pumps ($326) are just the pair I have been looking for from his lower-priced B Brian Atwood line.
