Get Alexa Chung’s Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 Black Velvet and Lace Dress Plus the Brand’s More Wearable Version

I last featured Alexa Chung at the end of September in a Fall 2011 dress from Mary Katrantzou.  Her latest look is less colorful, but definitely sensual and darker, perfect for Fall.

She was seen at the new Emilio Pucci boutique launch at Saks Fifth Avenue in a look from the brand: a black velvet dress with lace sleeves and a white Peter Pan collar with a bow tie detail. So elegant and feminine and a great testament to the fact that black lace really is the perfect way to look polished and sexy for evening.

For all the women looking to recreate the sensuality and “sexy headmistress” nature of this look, the brand has a more wearable, everyday version: the Collared Dress. Boasting the same contrast Peter Pan collar, it really is a great style to wear in the office or to cocktail events. I love the dress’ draping, which is ideal for women with curves and the puffed long sleeves, give you an added dose of femininity. You can wear this with black booties and any number of colorful tights could be layered underneath to add some fun to the look.

Emilio Pucci’s Black Velvet and Lace Dress retails for $3890, while the Collared Dress retails for $1950. Yes, more functional, but not necessarily more affordable. I mean it’s Pucci: I wouldn’t expect anything less. Visit www.emiliopucci.com and www.saks.com to purchase. See Alexa’s dress on the runway below, worn by Karmen Pedaru.
