Azzedine Alaïa and Frédéric Fekkai Design Candles for Quintessence Paris

The scent of your home is just as important as your personal scent. Whether it be your apartment or just your room, the fragrance of the place where you rest your head should be pleasant and inviting. The great thing about the aroma of your humble abode is that there are so many options from room sprays to candles.

Quintessence Paris believes that the scent of your home should change monthly. They have created Le Calendrier Olfactif  (literally translating to the olfactory calendar; olfactory meaning “of or relating to the sense of smell”) which is a calendar of twelve scented candles representing each month of the year. Each candle is custom-made and designed by a different arbiter of style to embody the month which it stands for.

Style and design icon, Azzedine Alaïa, designed the July candle which captures the clean and fresh smell of the beach and ocean. It practically transports you to summer, which is something we here in New York City need now that the warm weather has given way to chilly Fall temperatures.

Hair pioneer, Frédéric Fekkai, designed the November candle which combines the scents of almond and honey for a sweet and warm aroma. The candle is set in a container the color of burned sugar, which is adorned with small golden bees. It reads Miel Amandes, which translates to honey almonds in French.

Beautiful scents that will definitely be perfect with the holidays just around the corner. The Azzedine Alaïa and Frédéric Fekkai candles retail for $60 each, or you can buy the Boxed Set of 12 Artist Candles for $580. Visit www.vivre.com to purchase.
