Paris Fashion Week: Carven Spring 2012

Carven is becoming the go-to brand for celebrities and “It” girls who like edgy yet girlish fashion. The prices are moderate, but the pieces pack a punch, showing that women can still be sexy while embracing youthful and feminine design, thanks to designer Guillaume Henry.

I loved the varied color palette of the collection, from bold primary colors to multi-color chevron prints that were a tad Missoni in nature. The brand’s signature button-down blouse was shown in white layered under a black bandeau and under a multi-color chevron print dress on Shu Pei Qin. Cropped silhouettes are here to stay for Spring and were presented in a number of styles including a cropped colorful sweater on Kelly Moreira (shown above), a sleeveless squareneck chartreuse top on Juana Berga and so much more.

Get your legs in shape for Spring ladies because short hemlines are it for Carven, which was to be expected. I also loved the mix of textures from cool-weather perfect knits, rich leathers, lace insets and more. This collection can surely fit every woman’s style because there are workwear separates present, flirty skin-baring cocktail dresses and easy fun pieces for those who like to be on-trend.

Leighton Meester and Hailee Steinfeld are fans so I cannot wait to see how they work these pieces while out and about in the coming months. I also expect Amanda Brooks to try out some of the dresses in the collection.
