While watching Clueless last week, I couldn’t help but admire all of the fashions in the film. I argued with a friend about how iconic the movie is for most of us twenty-something women (especially in fashion) and he retorted. Clearly, he just doesn’t understand its importance.
If Opening Ceremony was around in 1995 when Clueless was released (yes it has surprisingly been 16 years), I am sure that Cher, Dionne and Amber would have a few pieces from the brand. They serve today’s super cool fashion set, with an array of designers both known and obscure, stateside and international. I love the interesting mix of brands, providing us all with no shortage of pieces to covet.
As soon as I first laid eyes on the Plaid Cropped Sweater Vest, I immediately thought back to Clueless and the numerous scenes in which Cher sported the style. If you weren’t aware, 90’s fashion is back and despite its look from another era, a cropped vest really is a great ladylike piece to have. Cher wore it over a long sheer button-down blouse most often in the film and you can do the same paired with a skirt or high-waisted pants, as well as wearing it over a shirtdress.
