The debut of Spring 2012 collections is upon us, so if you haven’t yet finalized your Fall 2011 list, hop to because your Spring 2012 list isn’t looming too far behind.
Dareen Hakim’s new handbag collection is high atop my list of must-haves for the upcoming season. I have been a big fan of her designs since I saw them years ago, especially because of my love for Middle Eastern culture and design (Dareen was born in Beirut). They are truly unique and beautiful, standing out among many of the extremely popular pieces that you see celebrities and “It” girls clamoring for each season.
The five designs for the season that Dareen is introducing are all different in shape, but completely functional. The palette ranges from flame orange to raven black, giving women both what they need as well as some statement pieces that they do not already have in their wardrobes. The V Tote ($545) is inspired by none other than fashion maven Victoria Beckham and I could truly see her rocking the bag, with its clean lines and its slight edginess. I also love the V Clutch ($385) which is futuristic and oversized, perfect for city women who like carrying clutches even for everyday.
