There is never a shortage of fashion brands from high-fashion to trendy to those that “It” girls and celebrities just cannot seem to get enough of. In the large pool that we fashion-minded women have to choose from, there are only a few really cool brands, in my opinion. I don’t mean brands that we love to wear or that are constantly seen on the red carpet: I’m talking about designers that make us feel cool and stylish just by wearing their pieces. It isn’t an easy feat to accomplish and it really is something that is achieved by very few.
Acne is one of those brands that has been cool from its inception, juxtaposing masculinity and femininity way before it was a trend. For Fall, there was all that and more including expertly-tailored blazers and coats and easy flowing silhouettes, whether it be wide-leg pants in rose pink or long skirts boasting a thigh-high slit. Ajak Deng stars in the lookbook for the collection and makes everything look effortless in rich jewel tones and metallics, perfect for making a statement in a season that is best described by its neutrals.
To get you ready for Fall, here are my top picks to buy from the collection:
There is nothing you need more for the season than a skirt with a thigh-high slit. Not for the faint of heart and a little more leg than you would have bargained for, the Modern Skirt ($380) is all you need to feel sexy for the season. A woman can never have too many pairs of black boots and the Pistol Boots ($660) are perfect for Fall: knee-high and with a sturdy stacked heel. I love amazing tops. Last year, I indulged in a showstopper from Camilla & Marc and this year, one of the coolest tops I have seen is the MOMA Top ($1160): truly a work of art.
