With Fashion Weeks all around the globe starting in a matter of weeks, it is time to start identifying new and emerging brands. Mysuelly is high atop my list of lines that I will think be rocked by women the world over because of the brand’s timeless silhouettes, great use of color, functionality and quirky retro styling.
Adelaide Salvi and Geraldine Cohen are the brains behind the brand which was launched in 2009: the former a French stylist and the latter, a PR maven. Together, they have created pieces that hark back to the handbag silhouettes of Paris in the 1950’s, as well as the Mad Men era which has become such a big fashion craze in the States. The name Mysuelly, is a blending of the names of both Adelaide and Geraldine’s grandmothers, Suzanne and Elly. Their elegance and style were inspirations for the designs.
My favorite handbag from the newest collection is the Joseph Top Handle Tote (pictured above on model). Its orange cream colored suede paired with its roomy red interior and vintage silhouette make it an absolute must-have. There is such an appreciation for fine craftmanship with the Joseph and with all of the other styles and that is such an important component in a great handbag.
