Nasty Gal Takes On Prada Spring 2011 and Noritaka Tatehana

There are very few people in this world who can afford every designer piece they love and unfortunately, I am not one of them. Thus, I don’t mind purchasing a lower-priced piece every now and then taking on a high-fashion design.

Nasty Gal is one of my favorite online retailers, giving me everything I need in terms of funky fashion. The brand is taking on two of the most popular accessories of the last year: Prada’s Striped Canvas Clutch and Noritaka Tatehana’s heel-less boots, as worn by Lady Gaga.

The clutch is aptly named Milan Stripe Clutch as Prada shows at Milan Fashion Week each season. The stripe pattern isn’t as chunky, thus taking away from the punch of the original Prada, but since Miuccia’s version is just canvas, there really is no need to pay the extra $660 for the original.

The Black Magic Platforms are not for the faint of heart, which is to be expected whenever you are imitating Gaga’s ensembles. They are crafted from vegan leather and boast an 8″ high heel: I would say don’t try these at home, but it’s probably safe to do so before attempting to teeter in them on the street. I personally wouldn’t dream of taking them on, but I know all the fashion-conscious risktakers will love getting their hands on this lower-priced version.

Nasty Gal’s Milan Stripe Clutch retails for $38 and the Black Magic Platforms for $118. Visit www.shopnastygal.com to purchase and check out the side-by-side comparison below.
