When women want glamour and showstopping red carpet gowns, Zac Posen is their man. He does over the top, fabulous fashion like no one else and for Resort 2012, luxury and femininity were the central components to the collection. He chose Coco Rocha as his model, which is no surprise as she is his muse and one of his closest friends.
Layers of taffeta and chiffon graced the hems of dresses, sleeves of sheer blouses and the frilled, plunging neckline of a red carpet-worthy gown. Silhouettes mostly stayed form-fitting and sleek, showing off the curves of the Zac Posen woman which is so inherent to the brand.
For those who want to wear Posen on a day-to-day basis, there are high-waisted trousers in a beautiful shade of eggshell blue, ruffled minis which show legs galore, and printed work-appropriate separates that will make you the talk of the office.
The wedding-perfect dress shown above is one of my favorites in the collection and Style.com reports that Zac will be designing a gown for Josephine de la Baume, the curvy French actress and “It” girl who is marrying Mark Ronson in August. I cannot wait to see what he designs for her and I look forward to seeing his dress creations on fashionistas the world over in coming months.
