Yasmin Warsame is a constant reminder that beauty is ageless because at 34, she is putting most models over a decade younger to shame. She was born in Somalia, but moved to Canada with her family at the age of 15. Some of her experience includes inspiring the likes of Alber Elbaz as his muse in 2003, posing as the face of Chanel’s “Allure” scent in that same year, modeling for Vogue Italia under the direction of Steven Meisel, landing a cosmetics contract with Revlon, becoming a judge on Canada’s Next Top Model and so much more. Not only is she a supermodel, but an activist, volunteering for the Somali Youth Coalition in Canada, as well as being a mother. As we all know, there aren’t many models of color, especially not models with long-spanning careers, so it is both refreshing and inspiring to see Yasmin Warsame continue to shine.
Warsame has walked the runway for some of the industry’s hottest designers from Ohne Titel to Christian Dior. Below are my top ten runway looks from her.
