Sofia Vergara in J Brand and YSL Plus The Season’s Best Navy Pieces

With a wardrobe stylist, a glamorous dress and perfect hair and makeup, anyone can look perfect on the red carpet. Your true beauty shows when your look is paired down and relaxed.

Sofia Vergara is a natural beauty and looked really great at the 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards. She didn’t have on her usual ensemble of a form-fitting high-fashion dress, but she rocked the red carpet nonetheless and the occasion definitely called for something more casual. She chose a navy tank top with silver embellishment and J Brand’s 901 Denim Leggings in Clear Indigo. She accessorized with a glistening silver clutch and Yves Saint Laurent’s Navy Leather Curvy Platform Pumps ($750). This look would be absolutely perfect for date night and could be taken up a notch by adding a blazer and a miniskirt.

As a New Yorker and someone who works in fashion, black is most often my go-to color, but of late I’ve been going for navy, trying something new. Though dark, it is a shade with loads of possibility and looks great with a multitude of other colors. Here are my favorite navy picks for the season, all from Shopbop.

The SUNO x Loeffler Randall collaboration has produced some of the hottest Spring footwear, so make sure to get your hands on the Audra Flat Sandals ($460). I have been a fan of Anya Hindmarch’s accessories for years and her Valorie Clutch ($395) is perfection. A denim dress is this season’s must-have and there’s no better style than JNBY’s Denim Dress ($195).
