Stella McCartney Names A Dress After Liv Tyler: Would You Wear It?

I first became obsessed with Liv Tyler when I spotted her in the music video, “Crazy” in 1993, from her father’s rock group, Aerosmith. The obsession continued with her roles in Empire Records and That Thing You Do!, two of my favorite films and two that had pretty epic fashions. At 5’10”, Liv is practically a model, thus it is near impossible for her to look bad in anything high-fashion.

It seems that cool was passed down genetically to Liv, instantly solidifying her as one of Hollywood’s “It”girls. She has become an “It” girl and muse in the fashion industry as well, becoming a champion of brands including Proenza Schouler and Givenchy, as well as the brand of one of her best friends: Stella McCartney.

Liv and Stella have been friends for over a decade and she always manages to wear one of her looks both on and off the red carpet, truly doing the collections justice as you can see above. Now Stella is returning the favor, creating a dress specially named after Liv.

The Liv Tyler Colorblock Dress is simple, yet striking. It takes on one of the season’s hottest trends and is a great day to night piece. You can wear it for Winter with black tights and black suede booties, or for warmer weather with nude pumps or sandals, like Liv did this past June at Stella McCartney’s Spring 2012 presentation in New York City.

So would you wear it?

Stella McCartney’s Liv Tyler Colorblocked Dress retails for $1245. Visit www.saks.com to purchase and www.stellamccartney.com for more information.
