Justin Timberlake in Dsquared² at the Late Show With David Letterman Plus My Favorite Dark Grey Picks for Men

I have a very special relationship with Justin Timberlake. Ok, not a real relationship, but at one point in my life, he was definitely one of my favorite people. Yes, I was one of those ‘N Sync fans with a room plastered with posters, all the crazy memorabilia, as well as the knowledge of JT’s favorite color, birthday and a plethora of other facts that have taken me years to forget.

I have been quietly mourning the death of his music career, while slowly coming to terms with the fact that he is a bonafide actor. Until now, I haven’t really had the overwhelming motivation to see one of his films in the theater, but his newest, In Time, looks pretty great. Naturally, with the release of a new movie comes tons of red carpet premieres and Mr. Timberlake has really been looking fantastic. At one point, I was quite unimpressed with his fashion choices, figuring he had lost his edge and thus given way to “average guy” syndrome. I am happy to say that he is back to his old ways and I don’t know if Jessica Biel’s high-fashion sensibility is rubbing off on him, but there are no complaints here.

Justin was seen at the “Late Show with David Letterman” rocking a three-piece suit from Dsquared²: dark grey and accented with a tie, pocket square and suede shoes in similar shades, as well as a light blue shirt. This is definitely a winning look for him and I hope that he continues in this vein.

If you are looking to mimic Justin Timberlake’s color palette, try some of my favorite picks for men in dark grey:

I love a tie with flair. Try Alexander Olch’s The Penn Plaid Wool Tie ($140) to give your business and more formal looks a touch of color and texture. Plaid shirts are pretty much the bread and butter in the wardrobes of well-dressed men. For Fall, you will get your wear out of John Varvatos’ Plaid Wool Flannel Shirt ($300). It seems that winter has already reared its head in New York City, so keep warm for the season in Woolrich’s Heavyweight Wool Blend Jacket ($695).

Every man needs a good wool suit, so try Richard James’ Two Button Wool Suit ($865) for a look you can wear day in and day out. Wingtips are an easy way for a man to look polished. Paul Smith’s Leather Brunswick Wingtips ($445) feature great Buffalino leather and are understated: perfect with so many of your Fall ensembles. Hoodies are essential when the weather gets cold, so purchase Cremieux’s Jaspe Solid Hoodie ($98) for a great basic style.
