Paris Fashion Week: Azzaro Spring 2012, Opened by Aminata Niaria

Though bereft of a Creative Director until next season, Azzaro’s collection was still as polished and feminine as it always is. Opened by Aminata Niaria the pieces still had all the glamour that is intrinsic to the fashion house, though the color palette was a bit scattered: hopefully becoming more fluid once Castello Branco takes over at the brand’s creative helm.

Azzaro’s signature jumpsuits were shown on Aminata in a sleeveless black version with a plunging neckline and a black and white tuxedo style that will definitely be a red carpet favorite. There were enough easy, black gowns to make me think that the brand will certainly be dressing “It” girls and celebrities the world over, even those who are in the throngs of pregnancy like Beyoncé. Naturally, mini dresses were shown: my favorite being one adorned in silver paillettes, truly capturing rocker chic and glamour at its finest. Other strong pieces were a seafoam green gown with a jeweled collar and plunging neckline and an all-white suit with silver lapels.
