Matthew Williamson is one of my top five favorite designers because he always manages to mix prints and bohemian chic silhouettes that the modern day woman can incorporate into her wardrobe. His Spring 2012 collection was no exception with an orange workwear look on Dree Hemingway that was surely safari-inspired, Catherine McNeil’s sheer button-down blouse paired with gold metallic platform pumps, courtesy of Matthew’s first shoe collaboration with Charlotte Olympia, yellow trousers that will surely stop traffic on Samantha Gradoville and so much more.
No matter what the season, Matthew always makes his pieces bright, really allowing the Matthew Williamson woman to stand out in a crowd.
There were definitely some pieces I would love to see on the red carpet including Ajak Deng’s cobalt blue draped gown and a lovely chartreuse number on Kendra Spears. Feather and beading embellishment also had their place on dresses worn by Dree Hemingway, Anais Mali and Melissa Tammerjin: definitely showgirl meets Marrakech.
Olivia Palermo and Sienna Miller are fans so I cannot wait to see if they try some of these looks out and about as well as on the red carpet.
