At the 2011 Emmy Awards, we were all made aware of the fact that red really is the new must-wear color of the season. Celebrities are clearly looking to make bold statements for Fall and I think we should all follow in their footsteps. Though red is a difficult color to pull off, the beauty of it is that there are so many ways to wear it. From red lips to red pumps, there are a number of options for how you can rock the fiery hue.
At SELF Magazine’s 2011 Women Doing Good Awards in New York City, Jennifer Hudson opted for the shade, wearing a red mini dress and red lips. She looked absolutely flawless and I love that she went bold and bright.
Here are some great ways to wear red right now:
The easiest way to do any bright color is to use it on your nails. For the hottest red, try Dolce & Gabbana’s Intense Nail Lacquer in Fire ($20). Red pants are all the rage in the industry right now, so get on trend with AG Adriano Goldschmied’s The Legging Jeans in Leatherette Red ($198). Next month I will be the owner of a classic Gucci shoulder bag, but that naturally does not stop me from wanting other pieces from the brand. The Joy Boston Medium Bag ($770) is perfect for adding some color to your everyday ensembles. I love exotic footwear, whether faux or real. Alice + Olivia’s Paige Platform Booties in Red Faux Python ($465) are stunning.
I am in the market for a great bold jumpsuit to wear for nights out. Lucy in Disguise’s Roxy Jumpsuit ($305) is absolute perfection. I love the simplicity and elegance of Salvatore Ferragamo’s handbags. The Clara Hobo Bag ($850) is a great chic piece to have for the season. I truly do not believe that a woman can have too many blazers as they are really Spring and Fall staples. Bop Basics’ The Fiance Blazer ($198) will look great with everything from jeans to a pencil skirt for the office.
