Most-Loved Coats For Fall 2011 Part 1: Including Boy. by Band of Outsiders, J.Crew, Joseph and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti

Fall is closer than I would like to admit, thus I am on the hunt for a great coat. Each Fall and Winter, I buy one or two, whether it be before the season for a piece that I just cannot live without, or towards the end of it, snagging a coat I love at a great price.

No matter what the current trends, I always love fur and color for Fall. The cold months can be so dreary, thus an injection of fun is needed in your outerwear to boost your spirits and to keep you interested in getting dressed everyday. Here is my list of most-loved coats for Fall 2011, part 1!

1. Boy. by Band of Outsiders Double Breasted Rabbit Coat – I purchased a double-breasted peacoat from Gap last year and I am in the market for a whole new style from a new designer for Fall 2011. Boy. by Band of Outsiders knows just how to mix masculine and feminine and this piece is perfect for the season, in a classic silhouette and shade. It is a great splurge, but well worth it as it will last you for years to come. ($3170)

2. J.Crew Wool Blend Crepe Coat – Orange is one of my favorite colors and nothing stands out in a crowd like an orange coat. J.Crew pieces really do last forever and my mom is a testament to that fact, still rocking a coat from the brand she received over ten years ago. This piece is tailored to perfection and won’t break the bank. ($350)

3. Joseph Dallas Shearling And Wool Blend Felt Coat – New York City winters get very cold so you cannot run around trying to be cute without first being as warm as possible. Shearling is the best way to stay toasty for the season and nothing will help you achieve that while being chic like this coat from Joseph. I also love that it is in navy, being wearable with almost any other shade. ($2495)

4. Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti Mongolian Shearling Coat – Shearling and color? Nothing could be better in my opinion. Though incredibly flashy and pricey, this piece from Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti will last you forever and will start a conversation no matter where you go. ($4295)
