Mad Men is one of my favorite television shows and I cannot wait until it comes back with a new season. In the meantime, costume designer for the show, Janie Bryant, is keeping us intrigued with her collaboration with Banana Republic.
The Mad Men Collection is influenced by the amazing fashion we see on the show, inspired by the 1960’s with all its femininity, poise and elegance. It was a time when getting dressed up was a necessity and not an option and I often wish that we could somehow return to that era of dressing in 2011.
Jaime King was seen wearing a lace cap-sleeve dress from the collection while at the Carrera Sunglasses Escape at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. She paired it with Prada’s Wing Tip Platform Espadrille Oxfords ($795) which are high atop the most-coveted accessories list this year. I love the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine with her look. It channels punk, showing just how versatile the collection will be once we can all get our hands on it.
Banana Republic’s Mad Men Collection debuts on August 11th. Visit www.bananarepublic.com to purchase and for more information.
