Olivier Theyskens is one of fashion’s true talents and his new role as the Artistic Director of Theory as well as its Head Designer for his eponymous line, Theyskens’ Theory has been received with much praise. His aesthetic has always been marked by a certain elegance and sophistication and his time at Nina Ricci and Rochas are some of the brands’ most memorable periods to date. Theory is the uniform for the modern working woman and Theyskens is putting a new spin on the brand with easy to wear pieces that feature expert tailoring, clean silhouettes and enough cool to make any woman look good no matter where she goes.
Theyskens Theory has decided to collaborate with world-renowned French boutique Colette to benefit the work that the Red Cross is doing in Japan. Theyskens has created four pieces for the collection: a black and blue dress crafted from silk, nylon and spandex ($411), a black and blue printed silk chiffon top ($411), a striped cotton tank top ($109) and a striped cotton t-shirt ($121).
All of the profits from the sale of each piece will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
You can buy the Theyskens’ Theory pieces at www.colette.fr.
The fanbase for the Theyskens’ Theory collection is also growing. Cameron Diaz was spotted in the Juji Glazed Leather Jacket from the Spring 2011 Collection, while on her way to a party thrown by fellow blonde Gwyneth Paltrow in New York City. She almost copied the runway look verbatim, pairing the piece with a white tank, white skinnies and nude pumps. I also loved the added touch of the suspenders. A completely relaxed and chic look showing that subtle can be sexy.
Theyskens’ Theory Juji Glazed Leather Jacket retails for $980. Visit www.net-a-porter.com to purchase.
