The Great Gatsby is one of those classic novels that most everyone reads in high school and if not, definitely by their adult years. F. Scott Fitzgerald was such a master of his craft and I loved seeing him portrayed in one of my favorite films of the year, Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris.
The book is being recreated for the screen and I could not be happier about it. Baz Luhrmann is directing it which means that it will be visually stunning. You know his work from films including Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge! and Australia. It is fitting that Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the film’s stars as he and Luhrmann worked together in Romeo + Juliet fifteen years ago.
Also starring in the film are Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Gemma Ward and many more. The image above is one of the first looks, as well as the image below.
We have to wait a whole year before the film is released, but it will definitely be worth it. Not to mention, the costume design for this film is going to be out of this world.
The Great Gatsby is set to debut on December 25th 2012. Visit www.bazmark.com for more information.
